Our History

_

Our club was chartered in August 1970, standing proud and steadfast like Windhoek´s historical landmark “Alte Feste“, meaning “old fortress”.

Our accomplishments in meeting community needs stretch far beyond Windhoek´s borders.

Our projects are manifold and comprise a broad spectrum of service activities, such as in education health care, diabetes awareness, blindness prevention and sight conservation, aid to senior citizens and persons with disablements, to children with sight, speech and hearing impairments, assistance to orphans and vulnerable children, support to farm schools, hostels, day care centres / kindergartens and many more.

We strive to make a difference in our communities and Namibia´s society as a whole, by living up to the Lions motto “We serve“
