Petrus Haakskeen

It was all smiles from quadriplegia Petrus Haakskeen, when we presented him with a special pressure cushion for his wheelchair.

This cushion was specially ordered for him from the USA at a cost of N$ 4,500.00 to aid the healing process of his severe bedsores on his buttocks. These he incurred from spending many hours in his wheelchair where he writes poetry, short stories, playwrights and even music on his computer with the aid of splints and sticks.

Many of his works have already been published, which is a great source of inspiration for him, filling him with a sense of achievement and a “fighting spirit” for life and survival.

Eros Girls School

On 9th June 2010 we presented the Eros Girls’ School with stationery and toiletries worth N$ 5,000.00 in support of their needy learners.

The Eros Girls’ School, a special education school, has presently 289 pupils of which 47 girls are either orphaned or vulnerable who are struggling in meeting their day to day needs.
At a previous occasion our club had already sponsored school uniforms for these girls and we hope that our donation can again alleviate the plight of these OVC’s for some time.

School for the Hearing Impaired Children

The proceeds of the advent calendar project 2009 went to the school for the hearing impaired children in Khomasdal/Windhoek. The 80,000N$ will be used to build a fence around the school and its hostel as the daily criminality became a challenge to the school and all the children.

See the gallery with more pictures of the project and the handover through the Mayor of Windhoek

Also check our press section with the information about the advent calendar project and the handover
