Cyber tools.. Website.. Blogs.. e-Mail.. why do we need all that? Do we really need it? And how can we use it as a successful tool?

Find some explanations on our website to become a Cyber Lion, if you have questions or suggestions, please contact us.

But first, read some extractions of the Lion Magazine to understand why we really need such tools:

Increasingly, Lions are going online to strengthen their ties to other club members or simply to share news. Meanwhile, more and more clubs are using cyber tools to conduct business and attract notice. The technologies improve communication, increase the efficiency of clubs and spur membership growth, especially among younger people, by positioning the club as cutting-edge and open to change.

When you come across a Web site that hasn't been updated in months (or years), how much confidence does it give you in that club?

"Having a Web site gives an organization credibility, especially for people my age," says Andy Weiss, 37, of the Horsham Lions in Pennsylvania.

The right Web site features can also make fundraising smoother.

There will always be Lions who downplay a Web site’s importance. Remember that club sites aren’t just for members. They are Lions’ face to the world. If you want to show that your club is vibrant and welcoming, the Web site should reflect that.

Whether you’re exited by these developments or not, new technologies are a fact of modern life. A club Web site is no longer optional, it’s a necessity. As more of your business contacts go on LinkedIn and your kids spend more time on Facebook, you’ll be left out completely if you refuse to join in.

If clubs want to attract new, younger members, they must find ways to adapt. “It’s what we have to do,” says Higginbotham (Lee Higginbotham, 41, first vice president of the Franklin Lions Club in Kentucky) . “We need to grow and change, to match what clubs need to be today.”
